G&R Homes was created when Gerry and Rosa Zito decided to start building homes. Gerry was a concreter by trade, running his own concreting business, before he applied and received his builder's licence. Rosa had been working for building companies in administration.
In 1980, out of their home office, Gerry and Rosa Zito started G&R Homes. Gerry was driving around in the ute, supervising and organising all the trades. Rosa ran the office, doing all the ordering, accounts and administration. Between them, with the help of a two-way radio, they started building high-quality custom-built homes. G&R Homes was all about providing people with extraordinary quality homes, along with a positive building experience. It wasn't long before both suppliers and trades knew what high standards both Gerry and Rosa expected and delivered when building homes.
Fast forward to 1997 and their son, Roy, graduated from The University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Building degree. He immediately joined the family business, learning the practical side of building from his father and how to run an office from his mother. Roy now project manages all the homes built by G&R Homes.
In 2002, Joe (son-in-law), joined in the family business. From day one he was taught the ropes by Gerry. Gerry passed on all his knowledge on how to build a high-quality home. Joe also studied to obtain his supervisor's licence in 2008. Joe now supervises and manages all the sites.
